Club YardsThe club uses the following equestrian centres for our members:
BUCS team members mainly use Parklands Equestrian Centre to train, and this is where we host our home BUCS competitions. However, BUCS team members may also take part in lessons at our other yards when available. Development mainly uses Lightwood Equestrian Centre and Sheffield Equestrian for training, with Development home competitions being held at Brooksby Equestrian Centre. We will try and arrange training for Development at Brooksby in the lead up to home competitions there, but due to it being a fair distance away we cannot use Brooksby for regular training. Leisure members will also mainly use Lightwood and Grenoside for lessons. Both Development and more advanced Leisure members may occasionally go to Parklands for lessons when spaces are available. Beginner members will start learning to ride at Smeltings Farm Riding Centre, and then as they progress will move to Lightwood. We will also be offering some natural horsemanship sessions at Smeltings and Lightwood. We have 3 yards we use for polo. We use Robin Hood Polo for weekend sessions, Bramham Polo Academy for sessions on Wednesday evenings and Leadenham for our annual polo camp. They offer lessons from private to class, catering for each client's individual needs. Lessons are available during the day, in the evenings and at weekends. All lessons are taught by suitably trained instructors, with the knowledge and experience to teach to the required level. They have a range of horses and ponies from 12.2hh to 17.2hh and of all ages. All their horses remain with them even after they have been retired and are viewed very much as part of the family. This means that their clients develop a bond with the horses, without the fear that they will be sold on, with some of their clients growing up riding and caring for ponies and then seeing their own children also ride and care for the same pony or enjoying a happy retirement.
